The Canadian Forces Network Operations Centre (CFNOC) conducts national system operations that have enterprise-wide scope, such as management of classified and unclassified networks, monitoring of Internet firewalls and common e-mail services. Through its incident management process, CFNOC monitors the status and coordinates the return to full service of national systems and networks affected by outages. Computer network defence operations involve the response to network incidents or threats, to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the network services.
